Donna Corinne McCoy, age 63, passed away Monday October 20, 2008, at Central Wyoming Hospice, in Casper. She was born January 7, 1945, in Sheridan to Carl Donald and Mary Corinne (Stroup) Johnson.
Donna grew up in the Sheridan area and graduated from Big Horn High School in 1963. After graduation she attended business school in Montana and worked as a telephone operator for several years. She married her high school sweetheart Charles Timothy McCoy August 26, 1967, in Sheridan. Together they raised 3 daughters, Inga Corinne, Carla Annette and Cynthia Michelle. Her family was the central part of her life. She loved being grandmother to Danica Don and Samantha Michelle. Donna enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, scrapbooking, quilting, needle point, knitting and took tremendous comfort in her bible study group. She will be remembered for her kind heart and generous spirit.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Inga McCoy and Carla and husband Dan Itzen both of Casper and Cynthia and husband Paul Leckie of Gainesville, GA; 2 granddaughters, Danica Itzen and Samantha Leckie; mother, Mary Johnson of Casper; 2 brothers, Ralph Johnson of North Carolina and Bill and wife Pam Johnson of Cheyenne.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, father Carl, and 2 brothers, Donald Dick Johnson and Bob Leroy Johnson.
In keeping with her generous spirit, contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
A visitation will be held Tuesday Oct. 21, from 4 to 6 PM in Newcomer Family Funeral Home, Casper with funeral services to be held Wednesday at 3:00 PM in Casper Alliance Church, 1725 S. Jackson, with Pastor Ken White. Burial will be Graveside in Riverview Cemetery in Green River, WY, Thursday, Oct 23 at 1 PM with Pastor Gary Burdick officiating.Newcomer Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
