Donna Louise Ward (née Bratton), 65, died in her sleep Monday, January 5, 2015.
Donna was born in High River Alberta, Canada on February 1, 1949 to L. G. "Dusty" Bratton and Margery Lock Bratton. Donna married Michael Kennedy Ward January 25, 1969.
Donna Ward graduated from Natrona County High School in 1967, attended Casper College and graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1976 with a BS degree in Pharmacy. She became a United States citizen in 1977. She was the pharmacy manager at the east side Safeway pharmacy in Casper for 22 years and was dedicated to the health and well-being of the people she was honored to serve.
Donna was a member of First Christian Church of Casper for 33 years, serving as a Deacon, Elder, and youth group sponsor as well as being active in the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and participated in the Women of the Word Bible Study.
Donna loved gardening, traveling, and taking many photographs of her grandchildren. She loved to bake and was always providing something for family gatherings and celebrations. She was very passionate about education and volunteered as part of the Expanding your Horizons Network where she spoke to middle school and high school girls to encourage interest in science.
She is survived by her husband Michael Ward, her three children Shannon Kastner (Steven), Arlen Ward (Amy), Erika Stupak (Spencer), and seven grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Audrey Rice (Ernie), Dennis Bratton (Elvira), Jennifer McIntyre (Randy), Rick Umbach (Alicia LePard), and Kenneth Umbach (Karla).
Donna was preceded in death by her parents L.G. "Dusty" Bratton and Margery Bratton Umbach. As well as Newell Umbach, Dorothy Umbach, Wayne Umbach, and Christie Rhodes.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the First Christian Church Casper Scholarship Fund or any nonprofit of your choice. Services will be held at First Christian Church on Saturday, January 10th at 3:00 PM.
