Memorial services for Donna Bee Asbell, 89, will be at 3:00pm Saturday, December 15th at the Newcomer Casper Chapel. She died December 6th, 2018, at her home in Casper with family beside her. Cremation has taken place.
She was born March 12, 1929 in Parkerton, Wy, the daughter of Harold E. and Mamie (Fowler) Wickwire. She attended schools throughout Wyoming, graduating from Riverton High school in 1945. She married Keith V. Asbell on November 4th, 1946, in Billings, Montana.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. An advocate who was instrumental in expanding and modernizing Meals on Wheels of Casper, serving on multiple boards and committees that enhanced Casper's health care and fine arts. She was essential in operating all of the Asbell Brother's business's, which included Asbell Brothers Construction, the Reef Lounge, raising and selling Simmental cattle, and Fremont Distributing. Her greatest gift was her love of family. Opening heart and home to many nieces, nephews, and children's friends.
Known for her creativity, flare for entertaining, and traveling adventures, she developed life-long friendships.
Donna is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mickey and Vicki Asbell of Lander; her daughter, Debra Roman of Glenrock; 4 grandchildren, Marin Brown of California, Shane Rodgers of Glenrock, Tisha Smith (Ron Smith) of Glenrock; Carl Asbell (Kim Asbell) of Lander; 7 great grandchildren, Megan, Kale, Ethan, Claire, Grace, Maggie and Josie, a great-great grandson, Kellen, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Harold and Mamie Wickwire, brothers, Jay and Dwight Wickwire, sisters, Louise Brow and Gladys Wickwire; and her beloved husband of 52 years, Keith Asbell.
