Donald E Middaugh passed away in Casper, Wyoming January 24, 2010. He was born in Casper April 27, 1926, the son of L.W. and Mary Ellen Middaugh and was a life long resident of Casper. Donald attended Jefferson and St Anthony's grade schools and graduated from NCHS with the Class of 1944. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Army Air Corp and served as the gunner in the Sperry Ball turret of a B-24 bomber stationed in the Pacific Theater.
After the war he attended Casper College, the University of Wyoming and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado at Greeley with a teaching degree in Music.
Donald was united in marriage to Betty DePaul who passed away September 2, 1985. They operated the Lord Manor Motel for many years. Donald was an accomplished musician with his sax and clarinet. He was of the big band era and enjoyed playing in the local bands and with his wife Betty on the piano. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother Thayne and his sister Lois Marie. He is survived by his brother Lawrence and his stepson William Joseph DePaul.
Services will be held at St Anthony's Catholic Church Thursday January 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Newcomer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
