Life History:
The funeral services for long time Casper resident Donald E. Emerson, 91
He passed away peacefully at Wyoming Medical Center December 13, 2005
He was born March 29, 1914 in Dry Valley, Nebraska,
the second son of eight boys and three girls of
Richard Ray Emerson and Lula Mary Emerson.
The family homesteaded in Dry Valley,
where he and his siblings worked on the farm and went to school.
During World War II, he dairy farmed and his wife, Edna, worked in an ammunitions factory in Denver.
In 1948 he moved with his family to Casper. He worked for Meadow Gold Dairy and
Cream O'Weber Dairy from 1948 to 1977 at which time he purchased "Don's Delivery Service." He retired in 1979.
Throughout the years he was very active in the First Assembly of God church and was a board member for forty years.
He served as a Sunday School Superintendent early on and
also worked with the youth and supported other ministries. He was always very generous to everyone.
His grandson once stated, "Grandpa, you don't know a stranger." He loved his Lord and his Family.
Survivors include his wife, Janette (Toy Henshaw) Emerson; daughters, Donna Behounek, Cheyenne; WY;
Barbara Garman, Casper, WY; Connie Cook, Columbia, MO; Pat Wells, Clark, MO; three brothers,
Rev. Richard Emerson, Pueblo, CO; Waldo Emerson, Nampa, ID; Paul Emerson, Caldwell, ID;
sister, Austa Smith, Palmer,AK
and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Edna (Neely) Emerson, four brothers and two sisters.
