Don Voyles

July 21, 1932 — April 9, 2020

Don Voyles, age 87 of Casper Wyoming went to be with his Lord on April 10, 2020. Don was born to William Jesse Voyles and Jane Smith Voyles in Cement, OK on July 21, 1932. Don was one of 5 children, sister Lenora, brothers Alvin Jesse "Billie", Clarence William "Pete" and Jack Lee. Don's family moved to the Lovell and Powell area when he was 12 years old. Don then moved to Worland when he was a freshman in high school and graduated from Worland High School in 1951.

Don met and married the love of his life Shirley Burnett in Powell. They were truly happy and were very much in love and cared for each other for over 68 years. They were a wonderful example to everyone around them of what a solid and true marriage should be.

Don's job in the oil field industry moved them numerous times throughout Wyoming, Nebraska and Montana. They had settled in Casper since 1978 and loved spending time with family and friends.

Don was a wonderful man, very caring, generous with his time, love and talents. He was a very genuine man with so much integrity and passion. Don loved playing music at his church and was a Man of Faith. Don could play the piano, organ, guitar, banjo, harmonica and steel guitar all by ear, he could not read a note of music. Don played with several groups entertaining people in assisted living and full care facilities around the Casper area. Don had a real talent for wood working, he made rocking motorcycles, rocking planes, little wooden vehicles for so many little people he loved, he made picnic tables, lamps, clocks and too many items to mention. We all said if Papa can't fix it you need to buy a new one! "Papa" loved watching the grandkids and great grandkids play baseball, basketball, football and soccer over the years.

Don and Shirley had two children, Jan Davis (Tom) of Worland and Greg who was married to Theresa Ryan formerly of Worland. Greg died in an auto accident a few years after he and Theresa were married. Theresa remained a part of their lives, Don was a very important part of her family. Don had 4 grandsons Toby Davis (Brandi) Las Vegas and Corey Davis (Jennifer) Worland, Cameron and Garrett Spaeth both of Fort Collins, 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Don will be greatly missed and was loved by many.
