Services for Diana L. Gums, 54, of Casper will be Friday, 01-05-2007, 02:00 PM at Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Merrill Smith from the Highland Park Community Church. Burial will be in Wyoming Memorial Gardens.
Diana left her earthly home on December 30, 2006 from complications related to cancer.
She was surrounded by family and friends at her time of death.
Diana Gums was born at Natrona County Memorial Hospital in Casper, Wyoming on September 1, 1952 to Emil and Margaret Gums. She spent a portion of her childhood in Casper and attended Woods School. She later moved to Lander and resided at the Wyoming State Training School unit 1994. She moved back to Casper where she resided in her own apartment until her time of death.
Diana was a blessing to everyone that knew her. She enjoyed musical outings into the community, a variety of activities watching Little House on the Prairie on her big screen TV, and participating in various developmental projects. She collected a large variety of stuffed animals and enjoyed getting all dressed up to go out for a nice dinner or a day of family activities.
She will leave a big void in everyone's heart that knew her or encountered her beautiful smile. She is survived by her mother Margaret Gums of Casper, sister Sharon Calvert of Casper and Connie Benson sister and guardian of Casper, several nieces and nephews and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father Emil Gums, maternal Grandparents LaVern and Ethel Preston, paternal Grandparents Gottleib and Katherine Gums, and several aunts and uncles.
