Dennis John Verworn
Dennis Verworn, 56, of Glenrock, passed away at Wyoming Medical Center on December 31, 2008 with his family at his side.
Dennis was born on December 17, 1952, the son of Gottfried and Ella (Zimmerman) Verworn in Miles City, MT. He grew up in Terry, MT where he lived until joining the U.S. Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged and returned to Montana where he began a career with the Ironworkers Union. Dennis later moved to Wyoming where he made his home. He retired from Local 732.
Dennis was a likeable man with a feisty spirit. His beautiful granddaughters were the light of his life. He enjoyed driving his Ford Mustang and being in the outdoors.
Survivors include his daughter, April Matthews and three granddaughters, Shylo, Karie and Heather Matthews of Gillette, WY, brother Ben (Vi) of Glenrock, WY and sisters Gert Haidle of Livingston, MT, Helen (Kay) Buckingham of Missoula, MT, Nelda Reinschmidt of Billings, MT, Vickie Roesler of Gillette, WY and a loving extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5 from 4-6 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home in Casper. Service and burial will be Tuesday, January 6 at 1 pm at the Oregon Trails State Veterans Cemetery in Casper.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of one's choice.
