Dennis Kelton Lorenzen
Dennis Kelton Lorenzen, born March 5, 1940 in Lusk, Wyoming, passed away March 13, 2008 from complications during heart surgery at the Central Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. He is the son of Harry Franklin Lorenzen and Edith May Jensen Lorenzen.
Dennis attended first grade through high school in Lusk, Wyoming. He spent a lot of time in his youth helping his Uncle, Aunt, and Grandparents on the J.P. Jensen ranch in the Hat Creek, Wyoming area. On May 18, 1959, he was joined in marriage with Naomi K. Leimser, and they had two children, Howard and Jacqueline.
During his life, he worked as a driller on the oil field, part time cop, heavy equipment operator and mechanic. In 1970 Dennis and his family purchased a ranch on Indian Creek in the Hat Creek area north of Lusk, Wyoming. While on the ranch, Dennis worked for Neosho Construction, building the first railroad line coal transportation from Bill, Wyoming to Nebraska. They then moved to Texas, Missouri, and back to Wyoming finally settling in Rolling Hills, Wyoming where they have made their home.
His family was very important to him, and he enjoyed spending time with them. His interests included camping, fishing, hunting, riding his motorcycle, road trips to national parks, brain teaser puzzles of all kinds, and practical jokes. He also had fun with his many pets.
He is survived by his wife Naomi; son, Howard Lorenzen; spouse, Tay of Lusk, WY; and daughter, Jacqueline Frye; spouse, Lorn of Lusk, WY; six grandchildren: Alisha, Denise, Erin, Luke (Frye), Chris, and Kelton (Lorenzen); five great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Lorenzen; spouse, Alice of Mills,WY; one sister, Arleta Lorenzen Harvick; spouse, Joe of Pahrump, NV; and numerous Nieces and Nephews. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Monty and Rick Lorenzen, sister Deleta Lorenzen Cooper and ~and grand-daughter Hollie Mae Lorenzen
