Delma Fagerstone

July 13, 1937 — August 1, 2024

Delma Rae (Payte) Fagerstone, 87, of Casper, Wyoming passed away Thursday, August 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Delma was born on July 13, 1937 in Haynes, Arkansas to Leonard and Nellie Payte. When she was a week old, the family moved to Colorado, eventually settling in Arvada, Colorado.

When Delma was 13, she saw the most handsome boy ever and said to herself, "I sure would like to meet him" although she never thought she would be that lucky. That boy became the love of her life and on October 2, 1952, she married Winston Lee Fagerstone. Their song became "You Light up my Life".

Delma had a very strong faith and would often be found reading her bible or down on her knees in prayer. She loved to tell the good news of Yeshua.

Delma was preceded in death by her parents, parent-in-laws, her husband, of 62 years, Winston in 2015, her siblings, Lena, Katherine, Junior, Betty and Bobby, two brother-in-laws, and a sister-in-law.

She was also preceded in death by her 3 sons, Steve (2018), Gary(1993), and Ben(2024). Those were her greatest heartbreaks.

She is survived by her son, Carl (Stacie) Fagerstone, daughter-in-law, Karen Fagerstone, and grandchildren, Dondrae Fagerstone, Heather Cochran, Christopher Fagerstone, Amanda (Adrian) Montes, Emily Fagerstone, and Evan Fagerstone, and great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Cochran, Tristen Fagerstone, Audrey Montes, and Leo Montes.

At her request there will be no services and she will be laid to rest with her husband, Winston, at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wy.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to her caregivers Krystal, Ryleigh, Kelsey, Jamie, Moriah and DeeDee.

The family requests memorials to be sent to Central Wyoming Hospice.
