Deborah C. O’Brien (73), of Casper, Wyoming passed away on October 3rd 2024, at Banner Health – Wyoming Medical Center.
Deborah was born in Casper, WY on September 9th 1951, to Fred and Joan (Clark) Carr, the middle of 3 children. She spent her early years in Denver, CO attending St. Mary’s until the family returned to Casper where she attended and graduated from Natrona County High School. After graduation, she went on to attend Colorado State University as a Political Science major for a short time, but felt the pull of Casper, family and friends. She returned and took classes at Casper College, where she found a fondness for accounting.
She met her future husband and best-friend Terry O’Brien at NCHS, what started out as friends turned into marriage on August 12th, 1972.
Deborah started her career as a tax preparation consultant with H&R Block. When Terry started his own construction company, she became the accountant for the business. She was involved in many social groups including Service League, Blue Envelope Health Fund and Wyoming Dementia Care.
After raising her children and caring for her aging parents, she was a care giver and constant companion to Terry for 20 years after he suffered through two brain tumor surgeries.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Terry of 51 years, her father, her mother, niece-Christine Oyler, nephew-Shawn Carr and two loved labs (Bonnie and Cassie).
Deborah is survived by her son; Erin (Steph) O’Brien, their children; Tyler, Kaitlyn, Taylor, and Kaden; her daughter; Kelly (Nick) Grudzien, their children; Mia and Blake. Sister Martha and brother Doug (Karla).
Services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, November 15th 2024, at St. Anthony’s Church, 604 S Center St, Casper, Wyoming.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Blue Envelope Health Fund or Wyoming Dementia Care.
