Deborah (Grandma Kay) Taylor
Deborah “Kay” (Craig) Taylor was born in 1956 in Huntsville, Arkansas and died October 13, 2024 in Casper, Wyoming after a lengthy illness.
Kay was steadfast in her priorities: Faith, family and community.
She grew up in Haysville, Kansas, with her ten brothers and sisters. She met her husband Thomas Taylor and while in Kansas, they had two children: John (Tammy) and James (Jessica). They moved to Wyoming in 1978 and later welcomed their daughter Jennifer Goodman (Erin). She was a devoted wife, friend, mother and grandmother. She had eleven grandchildren: Anca Taylor, Jonathan Taylor, Ethan Taylor, Jackson (Jenna) Taylor, Jazmine Garcia, Joseph (Peyton) Taylor, Isabella Taylor, Emma Goodman, Corbin Goodman, Carter Goodman, and Emrie Goodman. She was great grandmother to Rhett Taylor, Beau Taylor, Baker Taylor and Baby Boy Taylor who is on-the-way.
Kay had many hobbies but her heart truly belonged to her family and to the children of Glenrock. She was lovingly referred to as “Grandma Kay”. She provided daycare services for many young children in the community and also was the Director for the Glenrock branch of the Boys and Girls Club for several years, where she formed strong bonds with all the children who came in contact with her.
She had a special heart for children who struggled. This led to her eventually opening Grandma Kay’s Toy Store. This store was her dream and every penny of the profits went to providing Christmas for the children of Glenrock. Every year, she made sure that no child went without Christmas and with the help of community donations, she has provided Christmas for hundreds of children over the years.
Per her request, a private family service will be held in her honor at Glenrock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions.
