David Wickstrom, 83, of Casper, Wyoming passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023.
David was born June 13, 1940 in Fort Washakie, Wyoming to Percy Adams Wickstrom and Jerry Mae (Carpenter) Wickstrom. He attended high school in Dubois, but left before graduating to join the Army. After serving 4 years in the Army, David joined the Navy and proudly served on aircraft carrier. Finally, David enlisted in the Air National Guard out of Fort Collins, Colorado. While still serving in the military, David earned his GED and after he earned his Bachelor's degree. David taught small engine repair at Texas Tech. for many years. David was a self-taught engineer who could repair anything, and he was a master woodworker. By this time he was living in Valley Mills, Texas, with wife, Betty. They were very active in the Searsville Country Church, where David's fine woodworking skill and talent will remain a testament to his and Betty's faith and dedication to the restoration of their church. David's civic involvement extended from being a Master Mason in the Grand Lodge of Texas, and the Shriners International, to being the best Santa for many years in Waco, Texas.
He was preceded in death by wife, Betty Wickstrom. David then moved to Missouri to be closer to family. He moved to Casper recently to be with his sister and family.
David is survived by his children, Dana, Tara, and Lee Wickstrom; sister, Sandra Larimore, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his best friends, cats, Peanuts and Patch, who he loved like no other.
