David Michael Waltman, age 73, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on May 15, 2024. He was born on June 14, 1950, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, to Michael and Betty Waltman. David was a devoted father to his daughter, Danielle Colbert, and had a passion for cars, spending his life building various projects including a Model T hot rod, a rear engine dragster, and a 1968 Chevy Camaro.
David graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper and furthered his education at Mid-Plains Community Vocational Technical College in North Platte NE, earning an associate's degree in automotive mechanics. He pursued an early career as an auto technician at Ray Shellabarger Chevrolet and later worked as a maintenance technician for BP Amoco in both Casper and Texas City, Texas.
In addition to his daughter, David is survived by his brothers Steve (Gail), Doug (Lenora), Mark (Tammy), Dennis (Barbara), and Frank Waltman, and his sister Patricia Burget. He was preceded in death by his younger sisters Mary Ann and Carol Lyn Waltman and also his partner, Cindy Hart.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, followed by a service at the same location. Interment will take place at Highland Cemetery in Casper.

Dave will be remembered for his love for his family, his dedication to his work, and his passion for cars. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
