David Michael Klatt 3-29-1980 / 6-24-2019
Former Grants Pass resident David Michael Klatt, age 39, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Casper, Wyoming.
David was a 1998 Grants Pass High School graduate. He participated in the wrestling and football programs, but his passion was for the game of football. He was proud to be co-captain of the varsity team and loved his coaches and teammates. David ended the 1997/1998 football season with First Team all Conference awards for both offense and defense positions.
David worked in construction in Redmond, Oregon before moving to Windsor, Colorado in 2012 to be closer to his brother Justin and family, and to start his career in the oil field industry. David's career with the company TRK Casing began in 2013 in Northern Colorado. David accepted a supervisory position with TRK's Wyoming division in 2018. David loved his job and his oil field family.
David valued the opportunity he was given to raise his bonus son Gabe Howe, who David loved dearly. David also shared an extra special bond with his nieces and nephew. He loved being "Uncle Dave" the fun guy, the biggest kid in the room. "Uncle Dave" always showed up with the big toys !!
We are so going to miss our funny, sweet, smart, handsome, oh and did we mention funny, David? This guy was hilarious! David's sense of humor and quick wit filled up a room. David was living his life to the fullest and loving every minute of it. We will struggle to fill the hole in our hearts the big guy has left, but we will live every day to the fullest following David's example.
David leaves behind his parents Larry and Denise Helton; brother Justin Klatt and sister-in-law Crystal Klatt; sister Katy Nichol and brother-in-law Geoff Nichol; "bonus son" Gabe Howe; nieces Sydney, Kylie, Kaycee, Leann and nephews Kameron and Barrett; plus several aunts, uncles cousins and many dear friends.
