David C. Burton, 72, was born January 24, 1941, and raised in Antlers, Oklahoma. He graduated from Antlers High School and went on to attend college in Paris, Texas.
David's career consisted of working the big cross country oil and gas pipelines in over 36 U.S. states, including the Alaskan Pipeline. It was while working in Avenal, California, where he met his wife, Marilyn Monday. They married in 1962. They had two children, Brantley and Kelly, who were born and raised in Pinole, California. David was a proud member of Steamfitter's Local #342 for almost 50 years. In 1980, David decided to pull up stake and moved his family to Casper, Wyoming, where he purchased Chemical Weed Control, which he operated for 20 years.
David was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoor sportsman.
David is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, his son and one great granddaughter. He is now joined together with all his family that have passed before him.
He leaves behind his wife, Marilyn; his daughter, Kelly (Mike Shanley); five grandchildren David, Charla, Gary (Amber), Aaron and Kevin; six great grandchildren, Shylynn, Preston, Kelsey, Mia, Harlie, and Tavian; three sisters, Charlcie of New York; Elaine of Oklahoma; and Mary Sue of Texas. David is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with their spouses.
David was a very witty and wonderful person, and will be missed by his family and friends.
