Darrel Douglas 'Butch' Smith

CASPER -- Services for Darrel Douglas "Butch" Smith, 58, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at Highland Cemetery with Rev. Margaret Gillikin from First United Methodist Church officiating.
He died Nov. 1, 2007, at Wyoming Medical Center.
He wa sborn May 2, 1949, in Rawlins, the son of Alden W. Smith and Olive E. Hooker.
His family moved to Colorado, where they lived for eight years. They then moved to Casper where he was in the first graduating class at Kelly Walsh High School.
He met and married his wife, Cheryl, in 1968. He was a very special man, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was always there with a helping hand for people who needed help, and cared deeply about his family and friends.
He enjoyed being a truck driver because he got to see a lot of the country and different things. In his life, he touched a lot of people with his caring, humor, and calm easy manner. He will be missed deeply by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Smith; sons and their wives, Micheal Smith and Chad Smith; mother, Olive E. Smith and sister, Karen Lehrer, all of Casper; four grandchildren, two nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father.
