Darla Stanko went home to be with the good lord on February 28, 2023. She died peacefully in her sleep after a long battle with illness. She was 63 years of age.
Darla was born September 1, 1959 in Casper, WY to Elmer Johnson and his wife Deloris Johnson (Byer). Darla was the third child out of four. Casper is where Darla considers home lived often and there for many years. She attended Natrona County High School. After high school she met Edward Stanko. On August 13, 1980 they were married. They later moved to North Dakota. In North Dakota they welcomed a daughter. JeanAnn Stanko was born July 15th, 1981. The couple would move from Casper, WY, North Dakota, and then Florida so Ed could pursue his studies. Later the couple divorced and Darla accompanied by her daughter JeanAnn moved back to Casper where she raised JeanAnn. Darla had numerous jobs in Real Estate prior to finding her path in phlebotomy at Wyoming Medical Center. She worked as a phlebotomist for several years. These are some of her favorite jobs. In 2001 and 2005 Darla with her daughter welcomed two grandchildren. Whom she adored. In 2014 Darla moved to Oklahoma to be with life long friend Debbie Acebo.They enjoyed spending time reliving old times and finding new adventures. When her health took a turn for the worse, she moved back to Casper, WY. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Lotti and Lee Jonhson, Her maternal grandparents George and Harriet Byer, and by her parents Elmer and Deloris Johnson. She is survived by her siblings Ellen Bremner of Edmonton Alberta, Elmer Johnson of Casper, WY Delwin Johnson of Casper, WY. her daughter JeanAnn Stanko, Nephew Jason Johnson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, her grandchildren Mykenzie Coleman-Stanko and Ethan Stanko along with many cousins on both sides of the family.
Per her request she will be cremated and her ashes placed with her father. No services will be held but there will be a life celebration at a later date.
