Daniel Wayne Cowherd, (Digger Dan), 47, of Casper passed away in an automobile accident on November, 30, 2011 outside of Kaycee, WY.
Daniel was born in Greeley, CO. He attended elementary school at Trinity Lutheran school and graduated from Greeley Central High School in 1982 and attended college at North Colorado Junior College in Sterling, CO. After college he started his career in the oilfield, working his way from derrick hand to his latest position as a drilling consultant with Petroleum Experience which is a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil.
He loved skiing, fishing, and flying. He was pursuing his pilot's license and just flew solo with a dream of owning his own airplane.
Daniel is survived by; his wife, Tammie Cowherd; his daughter, Carissa (Justin) Watson; 5 grandchildren; parents, Robert and Carolyn Cowherd; and brother, Eric Cowherd. He is also survived by numerous, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
He is preceded in death by; his grandparents, John and Alice Schmidt, Coakley and Katherine Cowherd; and his brother, Bryce Cowherd.
VISITATION: Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 6th at Newcomer Funeral Home.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, December 6th, 2011 at 2:00 PM. At Newcomer Funeral Home, 710 East Second St. Casper, WY 82601. With Pastor Fred Dyer officiating.
