CASPER -- Services for Daniel Clarence Carr, 74, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2007, at First United Methodist Church in Casper with Rev. Bill Moore officiating. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
Viewing is today from 5 to 7 p.m., at Newcomer Family Funeral Home.
He died May 27, 2007, at his home.
He was born Aug. 12, 1932, in Spring View, Neb., the son of Jesse Carr and Marvel Gipson.
He was raised in Spring View, Neb., and graduated in 1950. In 1952, he left for Wyoming, where he went to work for Forgey Construction. In 1953, he went to work for another contractor and built seismograph trails.
On Sept 17, 1955, he married Hazel Forgey in Casper. They were married 41 years until her death in 1996.
In 1957, he went back to work for Forgey Construction, building roads and mines reclamation. In 1982, he started his own construction company, Carr Construction, which is operated today by his son, Monte.
He was a life member of the Elks Lodge and member of the Eagles Lodge.
He loved flying his own plane, riding his Harley motorcycles and restoring antique cars and had acquired an impressive collection.
Survivors include his daughter, Julie (Carr) Roberts and her husband of Dubois; his son, Monte Carr and his wife of Casper; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers.
