Dale Hugh Sherman passed away February 25th. 2012, at Wyoming Medical Center at the age of 81. He died peacefully surrounded by family.
Dale was born November 27th, 1930, in Braman, Oklahoma to Lonnie and Gladys Sherman. He grew up in Braman, Oklahoma, and attended Braman High School. On September 1st, 1950 he married the love of his life, Sue Arnold, in Braman, Oklahoma. They have been happily married for the past 61 years.
Dale attended Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1959 with a degree in Geology. He worked for NL Industries for 27 years as a chemical engineer. His job took his family through the oil fields of Kansas, Nebraska, Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming and copper mines in Arizona, and as a consultant for the gold mines in South Dakota. They settled in Casper, Wyoming.
After retiring in 1985, he and his wife enjoyed traveling in their motor home.
Dale was a loving, caring, selfless husband, father and grandfather. He touched the lives of all the people he met with his smile and his ability to always put a smile on your face. He could strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He will be deeply missed by all.
He was a member of Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church for many years.
He is survived by his wife Sue; four children, Dennis Sherman (Jann) of Great Bend, KS, Danny Sherman (Jenny) of Puebla, Mexico, Lynne Curran of Great Bend, KS, Susan Kearns (Dan) of Casper, WY; six grandchildren, Jill, Sara, Jenna, Todd, Sausha, Kirsten; and two great grandchildren, Marla Jo and Mison Dean. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald and his sister Geneva West.
In celebration of his life, services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday March 2nd at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church , 4100 Casper Mountain Road, Casper, WY, with Pastor Jack Olsen officiating. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held in Braman, Oklahoma, at a later date.
