Craig Vaughn Spiva, age 57, of St. Augustine, Florida, died Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at his mother's home in Casper, Wyoming after a long courageous battle with cancer. Craig was born January 2, 1960 in Casper, Wyoming to Leonard and Caryl (Coats) Spiva. Craig graduated from Kelly Walsh High School and later from the University of Wyoming. He lived in Farmington, New Mexico for many years where he was general manager and part owner of Quality Measurement, Inc. Craig moved to Florida with his sweetheart, Sally McDaniel, several years ago and they started their own transport business.
Craig was a very good athlete and an avid golfer. He loved the Denver Broncos and was overjoyed for their Super Bowl wins.
Craig had the most contagious smile, and he never knew a stranger. The lives that he has touched is only rivaled by the light that graces the sky!
He is survived by his beloved, Sally McDaniel; mother; Caryl Brown; daughter, Kiah Wimer and her husband Erik from Casper; brother, Ralph Spiva and his wife Karin from Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Mike and his wife Laurie from Casper; sister, Donna Spry from Westminster, Colorado; grandsons; Kaysen and Gentry Wimer; Sally's large extended family; as well as many nieces and nephews and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Spiva in 1990.
A Celebration of Life will be held this summer in Casper. There will be further information on the family's Facebook pages as to the time and place.
In lieu of flowers, Craig has requested donations for his grandchildren's college fund. A savings account will be set up at Wyo Central, 190 South David in Casper, Wyoming in the name of Kaysen Wimer.
