Cheryl A. Doepke, 62, of Casper, WY passed away at her home after a brief battle with Pancreatic Cancer, with her two daughters by her side.
Cheryl Ann Blinsky was born in Kensal, ND on the 27th of April, 1957. Daughter of the late Harold J. and B. Kathleen Blinsky.
She is the youngest of 6 siblings.
She attended Wimbledon HS and graduated in May 1975. She married her sweetheart Rodney Dean Doepke September 20, 1975 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wimbledon, ND. In October of 1978 Cheryl and Dean became parents to Twin daughters, Michelle and Danelle, while stationed in Agana, Guam UST.
In November of 1981 Cheryl and Dean divorced while stationed in Adak, AK. Cheryl and her girls returned to ND and during this time she earned her Criminal Justice degree from Bismarck State College in 1987. Working as a correctional officer at the North Dakota State Penitentiary in Bismarck and the ND State industrial School for girls. On April 6, 1991 the love of these two sweethearts were married once again after their 10 year "break" and moved to Mare Island Naval Submarine Base, Vallejo CA.
In October of 1992, The Doepke family moved to Casper, WY to finishing raising their daughters and living a beautiful loving life.
At the time of Cheryl's battle with Cancer she retired from the WY Department of Family Services after nearly 25 years of public service on September 23, 2019.
Cheryl loved her job and DFS was like her 2nd family and loved by so many co-workers.
She is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Jeremy) Virtue and Danelle (Jon) Schaffner. Grandchildren Jacob Dean Schaffner (17), Zackary Chase Virtue (16), Alexander Raymond Virtue (14) and the beautiful Waverly Lynn Schaffner (13).
Brothers, Ellis (JoAnn) Blinsky, Floyd(Pam) Blinsky. Sister, Sharon (Bruce) Shockley and Janice Blinsky. Brother in Laws Dale (Peggy) Doepke, Duane Doepke and Steve (Jennifer) Weixel. Cheryl is also survived by many numerous nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was proceeded in death by her husband Rodney Dean Doepke, grandson Caelan Dean Virtue, parents Harold & Kathleen (McDaniel) Blinsky and brother Duane Blinsky, Niece, Shannon Blinsky.
