Charles R Mason

July 31, 1935 — January 23, 2024

Charles R, Mason Jr. (Chuck) long time resident of Casper Wyoming passed on to eternity the early morning of January 23, 2024, He was 88 years old. Born July 31, 1935 in Sturgis South Dakota.

At the age of 23 he met and married his first wife Mary Dowel in 1958. They had three children together, Mary Belle 1959-2016, Charles Guy 1961 and Elizabeth Ann 1962; they divorced in 1965, he then married his second wife Rhoda LO Thompson of Portland Oregon in 1970 and remained married until her passing in 2014.

He spent his working life in construction and was involved in the building of many of the power plants throughout the mid western United States along with numerous large building projects. Even with the adversity of not being able to read due to severe dyslexia, he was able to become the general foreman on many of the job sites.

Chuck's favorite love's of life were family, friends and church, and looking for the best bargain for someone in the family, someone in need or to put in his never ending garage sales. He loved hunting and fishing every year, also telling stories of his many hunting and fishing trips, as well as all the adventures he had through out his life. This will be greatly missed by his siblings, Everett "Gene" (Rose Marie) Mason of Vancouver, WA, Jarold "Jack" (Pam) Mason of Turner, OR, and little sister, Dolores (Charles) Lucero, Of Evansville; son Charles Guy (Alica) Mason of Casper; daughter Elisabeth Ann Wilson of Reading CA; four grand children, Dawayne (Vanessa), Erin (Neal) Sawford, Christopher Mulford and Isaac. Six great grandkids, William, Amelia, Ezekiel, Caydence, Danica and Elijah; dozens of nieces and nephew's and countless others whom he considered family. Also survived by step sons Bruce and Jeffrey Wulfert.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Spouse Rhoda; Brothers, Ralph and Harold Sr.; daughter Mary Belle; and Stepson Keith. In the end Dad was faithful to family and church. He was never afraid of death and firmly believe it was a part of life but not the end of life, instilled by his faith in his Father in heaven and savior Jesus Christ. Memorial service is being planned for family and friends on July 6th, 2024.
