Charles William Frantz

For a man who loved to tell his stories, it seemed apropos to tell his. Charles William Frantz was a Wyoming man through and through. He was born to Dorthey Allene Hutto and William Edward Frantz and grew up in Cody, WY. Charlie grew up with three brothers: Buck, Red, and John, all of whom have been waiting for him to join them and recount many memories and tall tales. It was also in Cody where he met the love of his life, Penny Johnson. Although it was a rough start when she met him (with a black eye and fat lip from some sort of scuffle) she chose to overlook that and has spent the last 53 years as his wife.

As God saw fit, he gifted Charlie and Penny with four daughters - just to balance life out for him a bit. Sharon, Dawn, Sarah, and Crystal were the lights of his life. Charlie was a very hard worker and did all he could to provide for his family. He began his career as an electrician working in the oil fields and would eventually begin his own company, Silvertip Electric, that he started with his brother, Red. This company was a labor of love for him. Charlie spent a great deal of time on the road for his work, but he was always willing to travel more to watch his daughters participate in many volleyball tournaments and school sporting activities. He was also known to stop and refill his cooler with special treats for his girls when he got home. As aforementioned - his daughters were his favorites. He was grateful for the men that he was able to fraternize with once all his daughters were married: John, Matt, Will, and Kyle.

After retiring from his company, Charlie and Penny spent time enjoying the home they worked so hard to build. He loved sitting on the deck watching all the wildlife. Once his daughters had moved out and on their own, he felt the need to repopulate his home with a variety of dogs - which he loved almost as much as his children.

Charlie grew very tired from all the work and what he had accomplished in his life, so he moved on to his next level in heaven. He passed away on Friday, July 28th, 2023, ready for his new journey. His family has been greatly changed by his passing, but wants to continue his legacy. He has left behind many loved ones including his wife and only love, Penny; his four daughters, his eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his half-sister Marylil, his sisters-in-law, and his nieces and nephew. Charlie was not a stranger to anyone and was a friend to anyone he met, if you let him. He built many long-lasting friendships throughout his life and will leave many great memories with those who knew and loved him. He will be greatly missed.
