Charles Amadio

Charles J. Amadio passed away on November 5, 2009 at Poplar Living Center in Casper, Wyoming. He graced this earth for 90 years. Funeral services will be held at Newcomers Funeral Home, 710 E. 2nd Street on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wyoming Memorial Gardens.
Charles was born May 16, 1919 in Attleboro, Massachusetts and at an early age joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. This service led him to Wyoming in 1939 where he met Hazel Bochmann, fell in love and married in 1940.
As WWII broke out, Charles enlisted and proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Audrian in the South Pacific theater. After discharge, he worked for the Natrona County School District as a bus driver, truant officer and custodian. In 1949, Charles went to work for Casper College as a custodian, which eventually led him to the position of grounds and building superintendent until his retirement in 1985.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, his children; Chuck Amadio (Barbara) of Lander, WY, Dennis Amadio (Nicolette), LouAnn Miller (Bardo), Paul Amadio (Tracy) all of Casper, WY; 9 grandchildren: Craig, Megan, Ivy, Holly, Derek, Jim, Stacy, Ryan, Rachel; and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to charities of the donors choice.
