Cecil (CJ) Volney, 90, passed away early Thursday morning October 6, 2011 at Hospice of Casper after a short illness. CJ was born March 10, 1921 in Minot, North Dakota. Living most of his life in Williston, North Dakota. He prospected for uranium, was a part owner in Volney & Wayte Inc. and owned Volney Lanes in Williston. He loved hunting and fishing and his time at Paradise Point.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ardyce Volney, his brother Vernon Volney, his mother and father Vic and Hulda Volney. Surviving CJ are 1 sister Vicky Joseph of Williston, ND, sister-in-law Betty Volney and family of Minneapolis, MN, 4 son's Greg Volney and wife Rebecca of Casper WY, Brian Volney and wife Tresa of Godley TX, Bruce Volney and wife Laura of Casper WY, and Tracy Volney of Mandan ND. 2 favorites nieces Jan Joseph and Tammy Johnson of Williston also 5 grand children and 6 great grand children.
There will be a private graveside service in Willistion. The family would like to thank Park Place and Hospice of Casper for all the special care and kindess the staff gave him through the time he spent there.
