GLENROCK -- Memorial services for Alice Catherine Rupe Bishop Korn, 75 will be held Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Glenrock Senior Center.
Cathy went peacefully to heaven on Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, after a yearlong battle with cancer.
She was born Sept. 7,1933 in Douglas, WY, to Everette and Magdalene 'Lany' (Rothleutner) Rupe as the oldest child.
During her early years the family lived in Iowa, South Dakota, Arkansas, settling permanently in Wyoming.
Cathy graduated from Douglas High School in 1952.
On Feb. 14,1953, she married Leonard Bishop and had five children; Leonard, Chuck, Becky, Cindy, and Peggy. Her husband Leonard passed away July 28,1975.
November 10,1976, she married Donald Korn. Her family was then joined by his three daughters; Kim, Susan, and Laura.
Over the years she was blessed with 25 grandchildren and numerous great'grandchildren, excited at the birth of each.
Cathy was involved with the Women's Auxiliary volunteering throughout the communities and supporting our Armed Troops, Deer Creek Muzzleloaders, Wyoming State Muzzleloaders, and Glenrock Yellow Rockers (square dancing).
She loved reading, cooking, crafting (making Christmas Stockings for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren) sewing, flower gardening, watching 'Days of Our Lives', and was an avid Bronco's Fan.
She will be missed by anyone lucky enough to have known her.
She truly cared about the people in her life.
She was a very passionate and compassionate person to all.
Thankful to have shared her life are her husband, Don Korn of Glenrock; children and their spouses, Leonard and Julie of Texas, Chuck and Cindy of Massachusetts, Becky and Kelly Persinger of Glenrock, Cindy and Steve Ritter of Casper, Peggy and Pit Patterson of Cheyenne, Kim and Ken Hicks of Casper, Susan and Bob Wegner of Casper, Laura and Rex Parker of Casper. Two beautiful and very special sisters and brother-in-law, Ann Smotherman of Oregon, Carole and Bob Werner of Nevada, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Greeting her in heaven are her parents; brother, Bud; husband, Leonard Bishop; brother-in-law, Archie Smotherman; great-granddaughter, Erika; and numerous other relatives and friends.
