Kitty Ree Allen, 84, of Casper, Wyoming, was promoted to heaven September 13, 2016, at Wyoming Medical Center. She died peacefully of natural causes.
Kitty was born to George A Wheeler, Jr., and Catherine Elizabeth on January 25, 1932 in Alexandria, Louisiana. She grew up in Louisiana, Arkansas, and Texas and was influenced greatly by her grandmother "Mamie" who helped raise her.
She attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, where she met her husband Albert Allen at cheerleading tryouts. They were married September 5, 1952, and recently celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. They settled in Casper, Wyoming, where they raised their four children.
Kitty had a passion for education. She taught in Casper public schools and at Paradise Valley Christian School for twelve years. She also loved teaching children and adults alike at Paradise Valley Christian Church, but shared her faith with anyone she met.
Kitty provided financial, moral, and prayer support for countless missionaries. She traveled to Mexico, Jamaica, South Africa, Uganda, and Kenya to put her words into actions.
Kitty was proud of earning her Associate's degree from Casper College in her 60's. She pursued many creative activities including competitive roller skating, producing and directing her own children's TV shows, opening her own dance studio (Gotta Dance), and learning to ride horses on her 80th birthday. One of her greatest accomplishments was achieving Cowgirl status at Acacia Riding Adventures in San Acacia, New Mexico. Kitty had a love of life and a spirit of adventure. She was a dreamer with enough conviction to make those dreams come true.
Kitty is survived by her husband Al Allen; her four children Deb White (Lyn) of Salinas, California; Annie Miller (Johnny) of Gladstone, Missouri; Sallie Erickson (Todd) of Casper; and Pat Allen (Amy) of Casper. She is also blessed with 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren who fondly call her "Mamie." She has countless friends throughout the world.
Kitty's life motto was, "NEVER give up!" She was loving, generous, patriotic, nurturing, faithful, and courageous. She never met a stranger, was deeply loved and was an inspiration to many. We will miss you, Mamie! "Well done thou good and faithful servant!" Congratulations on your heavenly promotion.
