Carole Ann Phegley, the biggest and most beautiful heart, passed away with her loving family surrounding her bedside after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer on July 8th, 2024. Carole was renowned for her unparalleled compassion and empathy, traits that defined her character and left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Her legacy is one of warmth, kindness, and a profound capacity to care for others, which will continue to inspire and resonate in the hearts of those she touched. Carole's infectious laugh illuminated every room she entered, making her the undeniable light of any gathering. Her ability to connect with people made her a cherished member of any room.
Carole was born in Portland Oregon on August 22nd, 1947 and was raised in Upham, North Dakota. She later moved with her family to Greybull, Wyoming, and graduated from Greybull High School in 1965. She then embarked on a new chapter in Casper shortly thereafter, where she would meet and fall in love with Robert Phegley. They were married in August of 1968. Together, they forged a loving and enduring partnership, building their life in the heart of Casper.
Carole's career journey began at Wyoming Medical Center, where she served as a CNA from 1965 to 1969, providing compassionate care to patients. Her greatest joy and devotion, however, was found in her role as a homemaker, where she lovingly nurtured and supported her children throughout their lives never missing a performance, activity, or school function.
Carole’s greatest joy was spending time with family, especially enjoying time with her grandchildren. She loved camping, crocheting, listening to music, holidays, and traveling with her children and grandchildren. Carole, with her gift of gab, cherished the art of conversation and relished the opportunity to connect with new acquaintances. Her enthusiasm for engaging in long discussions was matched only by her genuine interest in getting to know others.
Carole is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Phegley of Casper; Her Children: Michelle Glover (George) of Casper, Tracy Phegley (Julie Webb) of Casper, Lori White Eagle (Perry) of Casper; Grandchildren: Sean Glover (Shanna) of Casper, Noah White Eagle of Casper, Carson White Eagle of Casper, and Ella White Eagle of Casper, Ash Webb of Oregon, and Stacey Webb of Casper. Carole was the 3rd oldest of seven siblings: Roger Nielsen of Green River, Jim Nielsen (Carol) of Casper, Dale Nielsen of North Carolina, Ellen Jacobson (Tom) of Green River, Karen Nielsen of Fort Collins, Kurt Nielsen of Casper, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
