Carol Jean Wollard, 66 years old, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2021 in Casper, WY.
Carol was born May 15, 1955 in Humansville, MO, to Gerald and Mary Wollard and was sister to her older siblings Kenneth and James.
Carol would often reminisce about her youth on the family farm, fondly describing her flour sack dresses and recalling churning butter at the kitchen table. Having older brothers contributed to her toughness and amazing athletic ability. Carol excelled at her favorite sport of softball. She was often asked to fill in on the boy's team as well, where she consistently outplayed her peers.
Choosing to experience life more fully, she moved to California where she met and married Glenn Reed. In 1987 they welcomed their only son Charles Dustin. Carol was so proud of her son and considered Dustin as her greatest achievement. She was a most loving and selfless mother, and often extended that motherly concern toward many who crossed her path. She was honest, respectful and always put others ahead of herself. Carol considered her role as a friend to be almost as important as her role of mother. She exuded a sense of confidence and calm which assured you she always had your back. Even after long periods of not seeing her, you knew you could pick up where you left off. She was a true friend to so many.
Carol is survived by her only child Dustin Reed, his wife Melodi and beloved grandchildren Madison and Colby of Casper WY, along with her brothers Kenneth and James of Fair Play. She was a great mother and a great friend plus a most amazing Nana! Her grandchildren adored her and inspired her to keep fighting.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Carol September 11 at her son's home at 2:00pm in Casper, Wyoming.
In Missouri, a graveside remembrance will be held at 12 noon September 24 at Dunnegan Cemetery. Immediately following will be a Celebration of Life at Silo Ridge Golf Club where friends and family are welcome to come and go between 1:30-4 p.m.
