In loving memory of Carol Yvonne Gums, 81, she joined her sweetheart in Heaven, from Central Wyoming Hospice, the morning of Tuesday, December 4, 2018. She is and will be greatly missed.
Carol was born in Jamestown, North Dakota on Friday, November 19, 1937. Carol enjoyed life with four siblings. In June 1955, she married her sweetheart, Art, in Anaconda, Montana. They welcomed their first child, Kathy. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Casper, Wyoming where they would make their home and welcome two more children, Steven and Teresa.
Carol's life was filled with happiness, laughter, and joy! She found great joy in cooking, baking, crocheting and going to coffee with her co-workers from Control Data. Not only was Carol's life filled with joy, but she was just a joyful person who knew how to live life to the fullest.
Carol embraced family heritage and enjoyed making kuchen, pefeffernuesse, kraut pounds and homemade dinner rolls. Carol kept people's stomachs and hearts full. She filled our hearts with love, our eyes with tears of laughter and our ears with loving tunes. May she rest forever in peace with her sweetheart in Heaven.
Carol is survived by her sister, Beverly Burgson, her three beloved children, Kathy (Bob) Taylor, Steven (Chris) Gums, and Teresa (Mike) Coryell, by her seven grandchildren, Karen, Melissa, Laurie, Kiel, Kimberly, Corey and Kristi and six great-grandchildren, Hailey, Alden, Kaitlyn, Locke, Kacie and Kallie. Carol was preceded to the gates of Heaven by her sweetheart, Art, adored mother, father, and three siblings Patty Otto, James Otto and Jean Braunberger.
Please join the family at the Graveside Service for Carol at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming. Following the Committal and Service there will be a Celebration of Carol's life held that day at 12:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Casper, Wyoming. After the services the church staff will host a reception for the family and friends of Carol in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage donations to the Central Wyoming Hospice in Carol's name.
