Carol Evelyn Castle of Casper, WY passed away Wednesday, January 9th at the age of 82, surrounded by her family. Leaving behind so many people she touched by her beautiful smile and very distinct contagious laughter.
She was a Wyoming Native, born in Douglas, WY August 17, 1936 to Art Johnson & Francis Johnson Morley. She graduated in 1954 from Douglas H.S. She married Earl "Dean" Castle (or as she would often refer to him as dammit Dean) on May 28, 1954. They then lovingly(& sometimes not so) put up with each other for the next 55 years.
Carol had many jobs to her credit, nurses aide, took in ironings, bank teller, cleaned and helped care for dear friends, drove for a delivery service and cared for two precious little girls. But the job she was most proud of was raising her 3 children and driving that old school bus #35 for 24 years for the Natrona County School District.
She loved the outdoors! From being raised in the country to driving bus for Field Science or helping with brandings anywhere and riding her horse Misty. Outside was her comfort zone. Later she enjoyed traveling with Dean in their motor home and especially loved spending her winters in AZ. She also was an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Carol is survived by her children; Debbie Bagner & her husband Ed, Patti Schaff & her husband Les, Rick Castle & his wife Donna. Also 6 grandchildren; Bryan Bagner, Gus Bagner, Landon Schaff, Nicole Martinez, Austin Schaff and Ryan Dean Castle, plus their partners and 15 great grandchildren. Then there is her sisters; Marie Maw, Barbara Dorf & her brother Jim Johnson, her Aunty Kathy Huey and Uncle Bill George, and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Don and her husband Dean.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please direct any donations or memorials to Hospice or Mountain Road Christian Academy in Carol's memory.
