Carol A. Becker

April 9, 1950 — January 27, 2023

Carol Ann Becker of Casper, WY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the age of 72 after a stoic 2 year battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Terrence Becker; her two children, Lucas (Chandra) Becker of Casper and Abbey (Zac) Rothenbuehler of Fort Collins, CO; and 3 grandchildren, Andrew Becker, Thomas Rothenbuehler and Samuel Rothenbuehler. She is also survived by 7 siblings, Elaine Byman, Jean Edmondson, Joan Gedde, Tammy Grasswick, Thomas (Jeannie) Grasswick, Jennifer Grasswick and James Grasswick, all of Minnesota. She is preceded in death by her
parents, and a beloved grandson, Brendan Becker.

Carol was born in Valley City, ND on April 9, 1950 to the late Carl and Theresa (Sherman) Grasswick. She was raised in very humble conditions throughout North Dakota and Minnesota. She graduated from Henning High School in 1968 and went on to Whitewater, Wisconsin to attend college. That is where she met her future husband Terry. They were married at St. Clare's Church in North Lake, Wisconsin on January 15, 1972. Carol and Terry soon moved out west to Colstrip, MT, and eventually settled in Wyoming, where they raised their two children, Luke and Abbey. Carol was a dedicated and loving stay at home mom and also earned a real estate license while living in Rock Springs. She loved the west and enjoyed camping, the sunsets in Pinedale, and finding one of her favorite flowers, Indian Paintbrush.

She also loved riding around in the Razor and boat rides at the lake. She loved watercolor paintings, and especially liked Georgia O'Keefe and Andrew Wyeth. She shared works of her talented cross-stitch, macrame, and crochet with many family and friends. She always looked forward to trips back to Minnesota to spend time with family, find a new piece of Redwing pottery for her collection, and hopefully catch a glimpse of a loon at the lake. Although she lived out west for many years, she never lost her sweet Midwestern accent.

Carol was a beautiful and kind person. She had a great sense of humor and her smile was unforgettable. She was no stranger to hardships and was an amazing example of strength and fortitude. She triumphed over Multiple Sclerosis for 45 years and defied doctors for years. She taught us that love and kindness are always the answer, no matter what kind of adversities life sent her way. She remained optimistic and never complained. Her light will continue to shine bright in those who knew her and she will be dearly missed.
