Carla Frances Plessman, age 80, of Casper, passed away November 18, 2017 at Central Wyoming Hospice where she spent her last few days surrounded by her loving family and friends. Carla was born August 2, 1937 in Bakersfield, California to Carl and Ethel (Jones) Steward. Carla met Brownie Plessman while rollerskating at the Wagon Wheel, fell in love, and were soon married on June 30, 1961 in Casper, Wyoming. Carla always had a strong desire to be a wife and mother with a family of her own; so when son, Mark and daughter, Sonya came along, her family was complete. Carla was a dedicated, devoted, and loving wife, sister, and mother, and was an excellent entrepreneur. Carla supported Brownie in all of his business ventures and purchases, and always remained "The Boss". Carla excelled at providing a loving home and was the June Cleaver of her day. She never missed a game or cheering her children on in their activities, and preparing meals. She enjoyed making crafts especially for the holidays and sharing with everyone. She was well known to many for her huge trays of sugar cookies, divinity, buttermilk fudge, and special treats at Christmas that many people eagerly anticipated every year. She was big on celebrating her family during holidays and birthdays, making sure each person knew how special, loved and accepted they were. Carla was extremely generous to everyone she met, her home was open to all. She enjoyed winning in gambling , traveling and exploring the U.S. and other countries, and sharing adventures with family. Her adventurous spirit will be deeply missed. She thrived despite her hardships early in life because of her strong faith in Christ, love for her sisters and her family. She was a long standing member of Winter Memorial Presbyterian Church. While she enjoyed this fellowship, most important was her personal walk with Christ. She had a large collection of Angels that brightened her home - acquired from her travels around the world with her beloved husband of 56 years. In addition to her parents, Carla was also preceded in death by her sisters, Maxine Hawkins and Patricia Willhite-Goodnight.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Donald "Brownie" Plessman, son, Mark Plessman and his wife, Kelly; grandchildren, Kelsey and Jacob Plessman; and Daughter, Sonya DeArmon, and her husband, Josh, and grandchildren, Shayne, her husband Josh Kost, Kaden Adelman, and Saige, Dakota, and Darion DeArmon, and great-granchildren, Theoden and Charleigh Kost, as well as her recently discovered sister, Phyllis Nelson Hyder, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Her Grandchildren will always remember her for her giving heart and repeated funny stories about their childhood. She enjoyed telling and reminding them of the silly things they said and did as babies, toddlers and teenagers. Because of these stories, memories and her beautiful soul she will never be forgotten.
