Carl Dederich

January 3, 1930 — December 31, 2011

Carl Bernard Dederich, 81, died Saturday December 31, 2011, at his home following a brief illness with brain cancer.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Georgia (Wolf) Dederich; his son Andrew and his wife Jenny, his daughter Katherine and her husband Dan Schmidt; his daughter Cynthia and her husband Robert Schlidt; his son Paul and his wife Becky; eleven grandchildren and many friends.

Born in Plain, WI, the son of Lawrence (Ted) and Grace (Thering) Dederich; and brother of six siblings, Carl grew up in Sauk County WI in a dairy community. Following high school, he started his first business as a root beer stand owner until Carl enlisted in the Army during the Korean war, where he was selected as a member of the Army Security Agency stationed in Tokyo as a code breaker.
On September 11, 1954, he married his dear wife, Georgia. She was his enduring passion and steady support.

Carl worked for several dairy companies in Wisconsin before joining Pfizer Corporation in 1962. In 1973, Carl and Georgia started Dederich Corporation, making specialty products for the dairy industry until the company's sale in 1985.

Retirement included global travel, extended family enjoyment and increased time to pursue a better golf swing.

In 1999, Carl and Georgia moved to Casper, WY where outdoor hobbies included farming and irrigation, hunting and fishing and a deep appreciation of the pristine nature of the North Platte River.
Carl's warmth, intellect, humor and joy for all aspects of living are greatly missed.
