Burton John Crow

Burton John Crow, born July 23, 1940 to Hazel (Taylor) and Malcolm Crow, in Thermopolis WY, passed away on April 4, 2012.

Burt and his family moved to Casper WY as a young boy where he graduated from Natrona County High School. While in the Army Reserves, he was trained as an equipment operator, and upon returning home, began a career as a truck driver. He married LeEtta Metcalf in 1960 and had three children: Donald John, Cary Burton, and Mark Wayne. They divorced in 1968.

Burt married Rose Marie Christenson on October 10, 1969 and had two children: Burton John Jr. and William Ray Crow. He and Rose lived in Casper until 1980, when they moved to Dubois WY. Burt and Rose were owner operators of the Ramshorn Inn from 1980 to 2005. Burt was City Councilman of Dubois for one term. Burt was one of the dedicated members responsible for getting the Dubois Sheep Interpretive Center built. He was a Lion Club member and well known for his hamburgers at the Chariot Races held in Dubois. He coached and sponsored T- ball and Little League Baseball. Burt sponsored softball tournaments in Dubois for several years. Burt was famous for his love of Karaoke in Dubois.

Burt and Rose retired and moved to Casper to be close to family in 2005. He also began Rosie Dosie Karaoke in Casper, performing at various venues and Karen and Jim's for two years.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Crow of Casper, his sons: Donald (April) of Casper, Mark of Walla Walla, WA, Burton (Darla) of Casper, and Bill (Kristie) of Conifer, CO. He was blessed with fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Malcolm of Nevada; and sisters, Beth and Mary of Washington, Eva of Iowa, and Annie of Casper.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, a son, Cary, a sister, Martha, and a brother, Leonard.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 1800 S. Conwell, Casper. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 S. Wilson, Casper, WY 82601. Newcomer Funeral Home is assisting the family.
