Burrel J. Weber passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2011. He was born Sept 6, 1927 to John J. and Edith Weber in Wheatland Wyoming. Burrel spent his early years helping out on the farm east of Wheatland before moving to Casper.
Burrel married his "sweetheart" and life long partner, Rozanna "Jean" Story, on his 20th birthday. Together they had 3 children, Terry, who died as an infant, Linda and Leon both of whom survive him.
He worked for the City of Casper for nearly 20 years before being injured in an accident in 1965. He also worked for Glendale Heating, Rocky Mountain Sheet Metal and WOTCO prior to retiring due to poor health.
Burrel was proud of so many things that he accomplished but was proudest of his cabin on Casper Mountain because it was a "Family Project." He enjoyed pointing out that there is no way that he could have built the cabin without Sherrell Wyatt, Curtis Lovelace and the rest of the family.
In addition to his wife and children, Burrel is survived by sisters Ruth Horton of Washington State, Mary Fowler of Wheatland, and brother Newton Weber of Mills as well as 4 grand children, Valarie Stewart (Damien) of Ft. Worth, Jan Nelson (Steve) of Casper, Laurie Anderson (Chuck) of Casper, and Dave Tackett (Dawn) of Denver. He was preceeded by his parents and a sister Freda Heide, a brother Carl Weber and a granddaughter Jaclyn Baker.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 30, 2011, 2:00 PM at The Newcomer Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Wyoming Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 PM Wednesday.
