Buford "Boots" Robinson Jr., 72, of Casper, passed away July 29, 2010.
He was born Feb. 22, 1938 in Utica, Ohio, the son of Buford and Isabelle Parks Robinson. He graduated Utica High School in 1956 where he excelled in football and basketball. He was a graduate of Muskingum College, New Concord, Ohio in 1960. Boots was united in marriage to Mardie Wertz Aug. 27, 1960 in Wooster, OH. He spent four years teaching and coaching at Utica High School and then moved to Wooster where managed Prairie Lane Hunting Preserve. He spent many years in the oil business and moved to Casper in 1980 where he was employed by Western Crude Oil. The later part of his career was spent as an area manager for Kar Products /Barnes Distribution where he retired in 2009. He was an avid sportsman in fields and streams, a passion that he shared with his family and his dogs. Boots enjoyed watching his children play sports and spent three years as president of the Kelly Walsh Booster Club.
Survivors include his wife, one month short of fifty years, Mardie, one daughter, Amanda Robinson, two sons, Ned and his wife Jennifer, and JR, all of Casper, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, one sister and a favorite uncle. Friends are welcome to an open house reception in his honor at his home, 5131 S. David on Thursday, Aug. 5 from 4 to 6 pm. Private family services have been held. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Wyoming Hospice Home or the Tom Stafalino Memorial Scholarship Fund , 2200 Miracle Dr. Casper, WY 82609, or the Kelly Walsh High School Booster Club.
