CASPER -- Memorial services for Jerry Brown, 70, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Dress will be casual for the service.
He died Sept. 15, 2007, of heart failure while on a hunting trip in the Big Horn Mountains.
He was born Feb. 25, 1937, to Frank and Lula (Barnum) Brown in Thermopolis and grew up in the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming. He spent his life with the exception of two years in Wyoming. He worked as a cowboy until 1983, when he went into the oil patch until his retirement from Hunt Oil Company in 1998.
After his retirement, he and his wife traveled extensively. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the Big Horn Mountains.
He met his wife, Ruby (Wright) Brown while she was teaching in the Big Horn Basin and they were married Aug. 12, 1961 in Basin.
He is survived by his wife of Edgerton, his mother, Lula, brother, Kenny, three sisters, Pat Owens and her husband, Linda Brown, and Judy Wilcox and her husband, all of Worland; their six children, Sherry Reeve and her husband, Sacramento, Calif., Boyd Brown and his wife, Gillette, Dale Brown and his wife, Sheridan, Lee Brown and his wife, Shoshoni, Donna Hoffman and her husband, Casper and Mark Brown, Edgerton; 14 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
A memorial fund has been set up for the Johnson County Search and Rescue, 639 Fort, Buffalo, 82834.
