Brenda June Cannon Hoyer, age 66, died peacefully on August 30, 2015 at 5:00am at Central Wyoming Hospice & Transitions in Casper, Wyoming after an extended illness. She was born June 13, 1949 at McNease Clinic in Fayette, Alabama to the late Percy Quinlan Cannon and Lorene Victoria Cannon Ellis. She attended Fayette Elementary and graduated from Fayette County High School in 1967. Brenda was a professional in many fields including an accomplished artist, skilled in the field of needlework by winning numerous awards in the Wyoming State Fair. She excelled in ranch management in Glenrock, Wyoming caring for cattle, horses and ranch live stock. Brenda fulfilled her childhood dream when she married Roy "Dutch" Hoyer in 1979 and became a Wyoming Cowgirl in heart and spirit. Brenda was a member of the National Daughters of the American Revolution. She was baptized in 1959 and became a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Fayette, Alabama. Brenda was a member of Highland Park Church in Casper, Wyoming.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband Roy "Dutch" Hoyer of Casper, Wyoming: two children Stefanie Kay Cargile (Walter Gene) Peterson of Glenrock, Wyoming and James Patrick Cargile (Lisa Marie) of Vance, Alabama; James Cargile father of her children of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; three step children: Gloria Hoyer Thoeny (Dan), David Hoyer and Kathy Hoyer Lenz (Steve); Four Grandsons: Jason Peterson, Kyle Hoyer, Reggie Gaylord and Colton John Lenz; Six Granddaughters: Jessica Peterson, Tessa Rose Cargile, Victoria Cargile, Andrea Thoeny Taylor, Dawn Thoeny Johnson, Whitney Lenz Cundy; three Great Granddaughters: Mercedes Taylor, Paisley Cundy, Harper Lenz; Four Great Grandsons: Jackson Gaylord, Landon Gaylord, Rylan Gaylord, Chesney Cundy; Three sisters: Linda Kate Cannon Gunter (twin) of Alpharetta, Georgia, Judith Oswalt Cannon and Nell Lindsey Smith both of Fayette, Alabama; numerous nieces and nephews in Wyoming and Alabama.
A viewing will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home and again from 10:00 am until her Memorial Service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Services will be conducted by Pastors Dennis and Candy Henderson, music is to be provided by Arlene Osborn and Jamie Purcell.
