A memorial service for Bonnie Miller, 86, will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Friday, January 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
Bonnie Miller died peacefully January 9th 2013. She was born on November 6th 1926 to Shorty and Cleo Bolles in Lebanon, Missouri. As a young girl she and her family traveled extensively across the country following Shorty's work. They lived in the Carolinas, California, Texas, and numerous other places before settling in Guernsey Wyoming. It was in Guernsey she met and married Boob Miller, and had two children. They moved to Shoshoni for a brief time working on the Boysen Dam. They then moved to Casper where they started a trucking company hauling bentonite. It was successful enough to allow them to buy a house and some land in Dempsey Acres where she lived most of her adult life. The trucking company evolved into a lucrative excavation business they ran together for many years. Some of their projects included Kelly Walsh High School, the terraces, some buildings at Casper College, and several grade schools. They were later divorced and Bonnie went to work at 1st Interstate Bank until she retired.
She loved spending time with her family especially her sister Beb
who was her best friend. She enjoyed crafting, going to the senior center to
socialize, and traveling. Her biggest passion was dancing. Square dancing was
her favorite, but any dance would do.
She is survived by her brothers Bill and Bob Bolles, children Beth Wood and Bub Miller, grandchildren Chad Wood and Erica Gardner, great-grand children Griffin, Josephine, Sophia, Cooper and Zoey, numerous nieces and nephews and brother-in-law Merle Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her parents Cleo and Shorty Bolles, sister Beb Kennedy, and ex-husband Boob Miller.
Memorials may be made to the Central Wyoming Senior Center, 1831 E. 4th Street, Casper, WY 82601.
