Bobby Lee Britt, 78, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY.
Bob was born January 7, 1936 to Milburn and Elizabeth Britt. He graduated from Carlisle High in Carlisle, Arkansas and went on to play one year of football for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks for Coach Bowden Wyatt who had previously been the head coach of the University of Wyoming.
While living in California, Bob was a respected voice in his community, organized several neighborhood activities, and was the Honorable Venerable of the Sons of Italy Lodge. Bob spent his professional life in sales working for companies that included Pepsi, Campbell's Soup, and U.S. Gypsum. His work with PDM Steel Company brought him and his family to Casper, Wyoming where he would later work for JW Williams and Pacific Steel and Recycling. He had a love for working with wood that provided many opportunities to collaborate on craft projects with his wife, Maria. He took pride in his rose garden and his hero was John Wayne.
Bob's infectious smile brightened the lives of those he touched on a daily basis. He was so proud of his kids and grandkids and particularly enjoyed bragging about their accomplishments. He could be found regularly at school activities offering an encouraging word and praise for any kid there.
A big history buff, Bob enjoyed visiting Deadwood, SD with Maria. They made several close friends with residents and other visitors to the area, participating in several special events at their favorite hotel and casino, Cadillac Jack's.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Britt; sister, Patricia Jones; children, Cindi Lillo of Stockton, CA, Andrea Britt of Nashville, TN, Tyanna Blase of Casper, WY, Kimberly Hornbeck (David) of Casper, WY, and Michael Britt of Casper, WY, and son-in-law Pat Scott of White Bluff, TN; fourteen grandchildren, Justin, Brittni, Kimber, Zachary, Alec, Carter, Cameron, Dalton, Hayden, Brooklyn, Madeline, Maximilian, Niko, and Lucas; and one great grandson, Micah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Brenda Scott; brother, Donald Britt; sister, LaVerne Sample; and a nephew, Nagel Britt.
A memorial service for Bob will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday June 26, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
