Bill Trestik

Bill Trestik, 83, died 12/11/09 at home from pancreatic cancer.
Bill was born in Erie, CO on 1/25/26 to Steve and Gizella (Futo) Trestik. He attended school in Denver. After high school graduation he joined the Army Air Corp and was a turret gunner on a B-17. His plane was damaged by flak on 2/14/44 resulting in him bailing out and being captured by German sympathizers. Bill remained a POW until being liberated at the end of the war.
He married Dolores "Dodie" Artese in Denver on June 20, 1948. They had three children.
He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener; Bill pursued these pleasures until age dictated him to stop. After 34 years with Shell Oil, he retired in 1986 and took up his hobby of jewelry making. Through his generosity, family and friends continue to receive enjoyment from his creations.
He is survived by his wife, Dodie, children Cheryl Moody of Denver, CO, Steve and wife Jill of Portland, OR and four grandchildren. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Stephanie, a grandson and son-in-law Jack Moody.
At his request, there will be no services. Cremation has taken place. The family will have a private memorial at a later date. Donations can be made to Amedisys Hospice Services, 907 N. Poplar, Suite 153, Casper, WY 82601 or a charity of your choice.
Newcomer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
