Bill was given his heavenly crown on October 12, 2010 surrounded by his family after a short, noble battle with cancer. Bill was born July 29, 1926, in Milan, Tennessee to Grace and Thorpe Tayloe, In Cheyenne where he began to learn his work ethic. In Cheyenne, he met his wife of 58 years, Joan Patterson, whom he married on December 19, 1952, in Fort Collins, Colorado. In 1954, he moved to start up Burk Moving and Storage in Casper, which he managed and co-owned. He then went to work for Consolidated Freightways in 1972 until he retired in 1987.
Bill was a hard-worker, even after retirement. He loved working with his hands and made benches, chairs, and bookcases for his children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. He had the best yard on the block, which he took great pride in. He loved Harley Davidsons and competed in field meets. He loved to read tabloid magazines, watch Lifetime movies and NASCAR. He ate breakfast everyday at Johnny J's or Perkins where he flirted with all the waitresses. He was also a lifetime member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. And by golly he loved a good beer!
He was preceded in death by his bather, mother, two brothers and one sister. The jewels in his crown include his wife, Joan Tayloe of Casper, his children; daughter Bev Bennett and husband Danny of Loveland, CO, son Butch Tayloe and wife Eileen of Howie in the Hills, FL, his six grandchildren; Jason and wife Angela, Valerie and husband Tim, Danny and wife Cassie, Matthew and Jamie, Tiffaney and her husband Travis, Cecilia and husband Trent, and his nine great-grandchildren; Angela, Austin, Alex, MacKenzie, Hunter, Daynn, Mason, Taylor and Trenton.
