A memorial service for William Burl Oldson 66, of Casper will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday October 10th, 2005 at Highland Park Church in Casper.
Inurnment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday October 11, 2005 at Highland Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming National Guard.
Bill died peacefully at home after a long illness with his family around him.
He was born April, 28, 1939 in Henney, Colorado the son of Edith (Miller) and Dan Oldson.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corp, Force Recon. He was a member of the VFW Post #9439, American Legion Post #2 and the Eagles.
He began his civilian career with the Ute Indian Tribe located in Fort Duchesne, Utah. During his employment with the Ute Tribe Bill ran a hunting camp in Deep Creek as well as completing research for projects of historical significance for the Ute Tribe. As a symbol of gratitude for his work, he was adopted into the tribe and was presented with a headdress.
He spent over 30 years working within the oil industry, learning every aspect from exploration to production.
In 1991, after retiring from the oil industry he opened Pro Tech Auto Care Center with his wife and son Bill Jr. the business was closed in 2001 due to illness.
He loved the outdoors spending his free time hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a wonderful loving husband, father, and friend.
Survived by his loving wife Bev of 23 years, daughter Kaylene Gardner of Big Piney, Karen Dayon of Rosemount, Minnesota, Rick of Wasilla, Alaska, Sherry Mills of Casper, 10 grandchildren, 8 ½ great grandchildren, 4 brothers, 1 sister and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; son, William Burl Oldson II; son, Dan Oldson; son, William Burl Oldson III (Bill Jr.); and his second wife, Glenda (Potter) Oldson.
Memorials maybe made to the Central Wyoming Hospice Program 319 South Wilson, Casper, Wyoming.
