CASPER -- Services for Beverly (Hicks) Clark, 78, will be held Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at 10 a.m., at Newcomer Family Funeral Home in Casper with Bishop Gary Pehrson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, officiating.
Viewing is Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
She died Dec. 24, 2006, at Life Care Center.
She was born Aug. 19, 1928, in Kansas City, Mo., the only child of Everett H. Robbins and Elizabeth J. Campbell.
She was raised and went to elementary school in Kansas City, Mo.
She moved during the Great Depression to Akron, Ohio, graduating from Akron Cuyahoga Falls High School. She graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, in 1950.
She married Van Hicks in May of 1960. He adopted her two children from a previous marriage and they later divorced.
In 1990, she married Warren H. Clark, who died in 1995.
She graduated from Cleveland Metropolitan Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio with a degree in Radiology Technology
She worked at Philadelphia, Pa., University Hospital as a radiological technologist. She was also a radiological technologist in Casper and other various towns in Wyoming and the west.
She joined War College of the Army to develop strategies related to flying in 1960 and later received her private pilot's license in 1978 and flew all over the United States and Canada.
She was actively involved in numerous community organizations.
She enjoyed reading, history, politics, traveling by car and sometimes flying airplanes, and her cat, Tosha, was the love of her life.
She was a surrogate mom to her granddaughter, Deborah after she lost both of her parents.
She was a very independent, high spirited person with a big heart and was known to many relatives and friends as "The frustrated drill sergeant."
She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.
Survivors include her daughter, Kathryn (Hicks-Barrett) Mestas, Casper; four grandsons and two granddaughters and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Warren Clark and her beloved son, Gary Hicks.
