Scully, Beulah Angeline Whitman, age 95, died Tuesday October 14, 2008 at Life Care Center in Casper, WY. Beulah was the oldest of three children born to George Washington Whitman and Mary ( Vickery) Whitman. She was born December 3, 1912 at the family ranch on the Green River near Big Piney, Wyoming. She received her formal education at Kemmerer & Big Piney, WY graduating in 1930. As a young adult she taught in local rural schools.
She married the love of her life, John Edward Scully, on Feb. 8,1934 in Salt Lake City, UT. Johns' work as a machinist for a major oil pipeline company took them to the Rangeley, CO area and in 1949 they settled permanently in Casper.
Beulah enjoyed being a homemaker. She was an excellent cook and talented seamstress. She had many hobbies and was well known for her exquisite needlework. She also enjoyed ceramics and china painting. She was a member of the Christmas Club and the local chapter of the D.O.E.S.
Beulah is survived by a sister-in-law Evelyn Miller and a brother-in-law Arthur Scully and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, sister Evelyn Whitman Johansen and brother William Whitman.
A visitation will be held Monday Oct 20, 5 to 7 PM at Newcomer Family Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Tuesday Oct. 21 at 1:30 PM at Memorial Gardens.
