Betty Johnson

Betty Jane Johnson was born October 11, 1925 in Goff, Kansas to Phillip Werner and Carrie Kissel. Betty passed away on April 21, 2012 in Casper at the age of 86. Early in Betty's life, her family moved to Guernsey, Wyoming where she graduated from high school. During WWII, Betty was a high school teacher in Guernsey. Near the end of WWII, she met and married Lyle A. Johnson, and shortly after, they moved to Casper where they resided ever since. For many years Betty worked in the office at Dean Morgan Junior High, retiring in the early 80's.

Betty is survived by her children Barbara Werner (Billy Brogdin), Lyle Jr. (Cathie) and Linda (Tim) Garriott of Casper, and Devona (Steve) Sayler of Louisville, Colorado. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Jon (JC) Werner, Tim Garriott, Jr., Justin Garriott, Chad Garriott, and Tamara Page all of Casper, Joseph Johnson of San Antonio, Texas and Nikki Mutz of Erie, Colorado and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Jenny of California and Cora of Arizona.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Lyle of 67 years on March 26, 2012, her parents, grandson Ryan Sayler and son-in-law Jon Werner. Also preceding her in death were 4 brothers, Clarence (Red), William (Bill), Phillip (Sol) and Lester and 5 sisters an infant sister, Lila, Mary, Berneice and Gladys.
