Ben E. Roberts, 59, of Riverton, Wyoming, passed away Saturday January 5, 2013.
He was born to Sam and Vivian (Jaure) Roberts, December 17, 1953 in Riverton, Wyoming. Ben volunteered to serve for the U.S. Army in 1972 and completed his High School equivalency while serving for the Army. Ben earned the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal while serving in the Army.
When Ben returned from the service he traveled the country that he served proudly. He loved traveling by hitchhiking or motorcycle and had countless adventures. For years he worked for the family business, Roberts Drilling. Ben then found the Rocky mountains his home working for Togwotee Mountain Lodge operating a front end loader. He worked for his good friends at Albright Sand and Gravel in Dubois, Wyoming for the last seven years. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and shooting pool.
He was survived by his mother Vivian Roberts of Casper, three sisters Cheryl (David)Nickerson of Casper, Vicki Roberts of Casper and Jacqueline (Todd) Anderson of Parker, Colorado. Nephews, Tim (Lara) Roberts, Trenton Nickerson, Nicholas McGlade, Robert Nickerson all of Casper and Bob Richardson of Denver, CO. Nieces, Sara Hart(god-daughter) & family & Laura(Phil) Nickerson of Casper and Samantha Richardson of Fort Collins, CO. Best of Friends(family) John B and Tammy Herrera of Riverton and his best friend, his cat, Susie.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Sam Roberts, his sister Mary Lou Ingram and his nephew Samuel Ingram of Casper.
A public viewing will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home from 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, January 8th. Services and burial will be held at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery in Casper on Wednesday January 9th at 10 am.
Military honors will be presented by the Natrona County Veterans Counsel and Wyoming National Guard
